Feast of Passover
Overview

🕊️ Feast 1: Passover (Pesach)

Passover, or Pesach, commemorates the night when God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. In Exodus 12:1–30, God commanded each household to sacrifice a spotless lamb and apply its blood to the doorposts. That night, when the destroyer passed through Egypt, every home covered by the blood was spared. This powerful act of redemption set the stage for Israel’s freedom and foreshadowed an even greater deliverance to come.

In the New Testament, Paul writes, “For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed” (1 Corinthians 5:7). Jesus fulfilled Passover through His death on the cross, shedding His blood so that those who believe in Him might be saved from eternal death. Just as the Israelites trusted the lamb’s blood for protection, we are called to trust in Jesus' sacrifice for our salvation.

Reflecting on Passover reminds us of the seriousness of sin, the cost of redemption, and the incredible mercy of God. Have you placed your trust in the Lamb of God? What does it mean to live as someone who has been set free by His blood?
